Pioneer Tennis 100 Challenge!
Thank you to all the alumni who were able to celebrate our Silver Anniversary season a couple weeks back here on campus. It was great to see you and relive some of the great memories from year’s past. The support of our alumni, along with our parents and friends of SHU Tennis, has been instrumental in the development of the program and has provided a first-class experience for our student-athletes past and present.
Last year we challenged all our alumni, parents and friends to take part in the first-ever “Pioneer Tennis 100 Challenge.” The goal was to get 100 supporters to donate a minimum of $100 in 100 days ($10,000)…. To say it was a success would be an understatement. We were able to raise approximately $12,000 through the challenge with over 40% of our alumni giving back. A great achievement by all of you which helped enhance our current student-athletes experience over the past year.
I ask you once again to help support our program with the second annual “Pioneer Tennis 100 Challenge” which begins today through the end of May.This commitment by you will provide additional equipment, practice and playing opportunities, and increased assistant coaching salary support for the program and our student-athletes that we may not be able to give the team without your generosity.
Coach Boe-Wiegaard and I are truly humbled by the support you have given the program over the last 25 years as a program and we hope the next 25 years are just as special as the ones gone by. Thanks again and we hope to see you at a match soon.
